- Sounds like a good opportunity for various developers to
- cooperate in cross-platform development. I am a lightwave
- hobbyist and Amiga enthusiast whose regular job is software
- development (for ATE systems -- not the fun stuff). I am
- planning to develop plug-ins, but since I own an Amiga with
- SAS C, I will certainly develop on that machine (only Sparcs
- and Xenix PC's at work). It occurs to me that if a PC
- developer or an SGI developer wanted to port his plug-in
- to the Amiga, I could provide that service and they could do
- the same for me. This seems like a good way to do development
- for all platforms at once (if certain details can be agreed
- upon).

- Anyone with these machines and their development systems is
- probably not going to be in the plug-in business either.
- There is probably a lot more money in porting applications.

-
- I agree they probably won't appear on all platforms simultaneously
- but probably will be unique to each platform for some time. In
- other words the PC guy develops one plug-in, the Amiga guy does
- another, etc. I think the idea of cooperative cross-development
- would go a long way towards insuring that all platforms have
- the same plugins.
